Sticky Buns Burlesque is proud to announce our new lineup! We are very excited to announce the arrival of Sunny Sighed, bringing Broadway to burlesque. Sunny is a fantastic singer, actress, and teaser, who combines all three in her burlesque. We think she’ll be a great addition to our core troupe of Paco Fish, Marla Meringue, and the inimitable Shortstaxx. We have also chosen our first collaborator on our next large-scale scripted production (details on that to be revealed soon). Our new collaborator is the unbelievably talented and prolific dancer, actress, musician, fashion designer, Nicolette Le Faye!!

Sticky Buns Burlesque is auditioning new acts of all types, including burlesque, sideshow, variety, circus, song, monologue, puppetry, or whatever it is that you do! If you’d like to apply to be a core member, guest performer, or stage manager for Sticky Buns Burlesque, please fill out the application below and email it to stickybunsburlesque@gmail.

ROLES & EXPECTATIONS
Core Members (paid): Core members are expected to attend weekly meetings, use their image and stage name in promotional materials, participate in the writing, choreographing, staging, building, rehearsing, producing, promoting, and performing in burlesque shows. Core members may not concurrently be part of any other similar performance troupe, but are encouraged to perform in addition to Sticky Buns Burlesque. The average time commitment expected per week is approximately 15 hours.
Guest Performers (paid): Guest performers are applying to be featured guests in Sticky Buns Burlesque revue shows. They should be willing to use their image and stage name in promotional materials and assist in the promotion of the shows, in addition to performing. They may be called upon to rehearse with the troupe, but are not expected to attend meetings. Guest creators for scripted shows will be auditioned by the complete troupe for the specific show with guidelines to be outlined later.
Stage Managers (paid): Stage managers are expected to set and clear stage props and costumes for revue & scripted shows. They are expected to be costumed in a manner befitting the theme of the show, or in an otherwise glamorous costume. No street clothes or simple lingerie. They may be asked to perform simple roles in occasional group routines.

Animal Attractions was awesome!

We are all so incredibly proud that our second large-scale production, Animal Attractions, was such a success. The show was written, produced, and performed by the 5 Sticky Buns and Elle Devene. Elle was wonderful to work with and play with and we wish her all the best in Atlanta! We were also fortunate enough to have Amber Lee Baker & Culann’s Hounds, who were so awesome. We spent 4 months writing and choreographing the show and are very grateful to all of the people who came out to support us and all of the people who wanted to but couldn’t.
Sticky Buns at Transmodern

This past Sunday, Sticky Buns participated in the Transmondern Festival’s annual Pedestrial Service Exquisite. PSE is a guided tour of interactive performance and visual art pieces around Baltimore’s H & H building. Patrons stroll from artist to artist, observing and participating in their various activities and revelries.
This year, Marla Meringue and Roma Mafia taught rudimentary pasty-twirling lessons to pedestrians using pasties that could be stuck directly to the clothing. They taught older gentlemen and small children to twirl what their mommas gave them!
